Bayelsa State deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, has slumped and died on Thursday. He was aged 60.
There were no details about the circumstances leading to the development as the Bayelsa State Government or his family was yet to issue statement at press time.
He is said to have slumped in his office and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa, for urgent medical attention. The cause of dêath hasn’t been officially confirmed, but sources suggest it might be related to a cardiac issue, possibly exacerbated by his demanding work schedule.
Born September 5, 1965, a former federal lawmaker, Ewhrudjakpo has served as the deputy governor of Bayelsa State since 2020. He hails from Ofoni Federated Communities in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
He has also served as Commissioner for Works, Senator Representing Bayelsa West before becoming the Deputy Governor Bayelsa State.
