Opeyemi Ayanwale, better known as Imisi, the triumphant winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has bravely shared a deeply personal loss that shadowed her path to stardom.
In an emotional TVC Entertainment interview, the 23-year-old from Oyo State revealed she suffered a miscarriage in April—just weeks before auditioning for the “10/10” edition.
“It was overwhelming,” Imisi said, her voice steady yet somber. “Not even a month before I auditioned. I don’t want to talk about it.”
The grief, she admitted, weighed heavily as she stepped into the house on July 28, amid unprocessed pain.
Compounding the tragedy, Imisi had recently parted ways with her ex-boyfriend, Hakeem, whom she called her “safe place.”
The breakup was “hectic,” she confessed, noting it forced her to enter the competition still reeling from heartbreak.
Her pre-show social media image, she added, was tailored to his tastes, highlighting how intertwined their lives had been.
Despite the turmoil, Imisi’s resilience shone through. The University of Ibadan graduate, a budding fashion designer and actress, captivated viewers with her wit, emotional depth, and quiet leadership.
From a field of 29 housemates, she clinched victory on October 5, edging out finalists Dede and Koyin with 42.8% of votes.
Her spoils? A staggering ₦150 million grand prize, including ₦80 million cash and a sleek Innoson SUV.
Fans, dubbed “Ijoba 606,” hailed her as a beacon of authenticity, trending #ImisiTheQueen nationwide.
Imisi’s candid revelations underscore the human side of fame, reminding us that even queens carry unseen scars.
