HEOSL is seeking a highly experienced Senior Budget Accountant to strengthen its finance function in Lagos. This hybrid role, based in Ikoyi, is designed for a seasoned finance professional with strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and internal control expertise.
The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring financial discipline, statutory compliance, and accurate reporting across the organisation, while supporting joint-venture (JV) and SubCom financial operations.

Role Overview
The Senior Budget Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. The role leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial close processes, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of financial information to senior management.
In addition, the role ensures that joint-venture financial activities are properly funded, reconciled, and aligned with performance reporting requirements.
This is a strategic finance position requiring both technical accounting expertise and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Budget Accountant will:
Monitor Cash Call requests against Cash Call receipts to ensure all JV activities are fully and properly funded.
Prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts to support liquidity planning.
Lead the budgeting and financial planning process in alignment with approved work programmes.
Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger management, balance-sheet reconciliations, and overhead allocations.
Ensure accurate recording, filing, and reporting of all financial transactions.
Review financial data and reports to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
Oversee timely submission of internal and external financial reports.
Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing platforms.
Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance with all State and Federal statutory requirements.
Provide timely financial reports and forecasts to the GM Finance.
Lead and motivate finance team members, clarifying responsibilities and driving performance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years’ relevant industry experience, with at least 5 years in a similar senior finance or budgeting role.
Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
Experience managing JV financial structures is an advantage.
