Anthony Joshua to Relocate to Dubai From UK

The former two-time heavyweight world champion disclosed the move in corporate filings linked to his business interests

British-Nigerian boxing superstar Anthony Joshua is set to relocate his residency from the United Kingdom to the United Arab Emirates, selecting Dubai as his new base as the global sports star expands his international business and investment footprint.

The former two-time heavyweight world champion disclosed the move in corporate filings linked to his business interests, confirming that he will now officially reside in Dubai instead of the UK.

Joshua’s relocation reflects a broader trend among high-net-worth individuals and professional athletes shifting residency to the UAE for its tax advantages, luxury lifestyle and expanding global sports ecosystem.

Anthony Joshua’s £150 Million Business Empire

Born in Watford to Nigerian parents, Joshua rose to international prominence after winning gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the super-heavyweight division.

During his career, Joshua has held multiple heavyweight titles including belts from the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation, and World Boxing Organization.

Outside the ring, Joshua has built a substantial commercial empire through sponsorship deals, promotions, and strategic investments.

Corporate documents connected to Joshua’s companies show the scale of his business operations.

One of his key firms, Sparta Promotions Limited, reported profits exceeding £20 million in 2024 while paying roughly £6.65 million in corporate taxes in the UK.

Joshua himself received dividend payments estimated at:

£10.1 million in 2024

£6.3 million in 2023

Another company tied to the boxer, 258 Investments Limited, also lists the UAE as his place of residence in corporate filings.

These firms are part of Joshua’s wider business portfolio covering boxing promotions, endorsements, media partnerships and investments.

Industry estimates place the athlete’s total wealth at roughly £150 million.

Why Dubai?

Dubai has increasingly become a magnet for wealthy entrepreneurs, athletes and celebrities.

The emirate offers:

• Zero personal income tax

• Strong financial privacy protections

• World-class sports infrastructure

• A luxury lifestyle ecosystem attractive to global elites

These advantages have made the city a hub for international athletes looking to optimise their tax exposure while maintaining access to global business opportunities.

Joshua has maintained a long relationship with the emirate and frequently trains there.

Joshua joins a growing list of prominent figures relocating to the Gulf.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has also established residence in Dubai.
