AFCON 2025: Sadio Mane Lifts Teranga Lions of Senegal Over Egypt to Book Place in Final

In a repeat of the 2021 AFCON final, the Teranga Lions dominated the game from start to finish

A second half goal from Sadio Mane was enough for the Teranga Lions of Senegal as they recorded a 1-0 win over Egypt in the semi final of the ongoing AFCON.

In a repeat of the 2021 AFCON final, the Teranga Lions dominated the game from start to finishing restricting the Egyptians to one shot on goal in the entire game.

The Senegalese team started the game brightly and missed a couple of chances in the first half to go ahead with the Egyptians relying on counter attacks to get anything out of the game.

Kalidou Koulibaly picker up a first half yellow card that ruled him out of the final and then got injured a few minutes after.

Senegal would now await the winner of the game between hosts morrocco and Nigeria in sunday’s final as they seek to win their second AFCON trophy in the last three editions.
