A sudden power outage has struck three key communities in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), plunging residents into darkness. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) attributes the blackout to a technical fault affecting Utako, parts of Jabi, and Wuye.
The disruption, which began Tuesday, has left households and businesses grappling with the inconvenience of an unexpected power cut. AEDC issued a statement acknowledging the issue, stating, “Dear customers in Utako, parts of Jabi and Wuye. We regret to inform you that the ongoing power outage is due to technical fault.”
Efforts to resolve the issue are underway, with AEDC’s technical team working diligently to restore electricity. However, the company has not provided a specific timeline for when power will return to the affected areas.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to serve you better,” AEDC added in its statement, appealing for calm amid the disruption. The lack of a restoration timeline has sparked frustration among residents reliant on consistent power for daily activities.
