The African Business Trade Association (ABTA) is inviting highly experienced professionals to join its Advisory Board as it scales its work supporting trade, investment, and enterprise growth across Africa.
The Role
This is a voluntary, non-executive advisory position.Advisory Board Members provide strategic guidance on ABTA’s direction, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
The Board meets quarterly to review progress, advise on partnerships, and support the executive team in strengthening ABTA’s institutional credibility, profile, and membership base.

Board Members are also expected to support fundraising and member recruitment, leveraging their experience and professional networks to help position ABTA as a trusted pan-African business platform.
Who ABTA Is Looking For
ABTA is seeking senior professionals with:
• Experience as a PLC board member, PLC executive, or former government minister
• A proven track record in listed-company governance, regulatory compliance, investor relations, or public policy
• Strong networks across corporate, government, or institutional investment ecosystems
• A solid understanding of African markets, development finance, or cross-border partnerships
• Alignment with ABTA’s mission of accelerating credible, investible business growth across Africa
Time Commitment
• Quarterly board meetings
• Occasional ad-hoc strategic input as required
