Japaul Gold & Ventures Plc has appointed Henry Alakhume as its Acting Group Managing Director, effective February 12, 2026, as the company moves to stabilise leadership following recent executive changes.
The appointment was disclosed in an official statement issued to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders, and the investing public. The Board said Alakhume will serve in an acting capacity pending the selection of a substantive Group Managing Director.
The company described him as “an experienced executive of the Company” whose leadership track record and operational expertise as Chief Operating Officer (COO) positioned him for the role. According to the Board, his elevation is intended to ensure continuity and maintain momentum across Japaul’s strategic business operations during the transition period.

Former Group Managing Director Akinloye Daniel Oladapo stepped down effective October 2025.
Abubakar Lawal was appointed Non-Executive Director effective February 10, 2026.
