Wanted: Director, Finance at DP World

About the Role

Are you a strategic financial leader with a passion for driving business growth and optimizing financial performance? DP World is seeking a Director: Finance to provide financial oversight, strategic guidance, and operational excellence to MDS Logistics. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business through effective planning, analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy execution.

Oversee financial operations, ensuring alignment with MDS Logistics’ objectives.

Provide in-depth financial performance analysis, comparing actual results against budget expectations and historical performance.

Maximize profitability and return on investment while maintaining financial stability.

Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and the Limits of Authority.

Develop and maintain internal management reports, dashboards, and financial performance metrics.

Lead tax administration and compliance, including timely submission of relevant tax returns.

Maintain an accurate fixed asset register and oversee internal and external audit processes.

Identify, manage, and mitigate financial and non-financial risks in collaboration with the risk management team.

Conduct an annual review of insurance policies to ensure adequate coverage and risk mitigation.

Implement and uphold robust internal financial controls.

Provide ad-hoc financial reports and strategic insights to senior leadership.

Optimize cash flow, working capital, treasury, and foreign exchange management.

Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.

Conduct balance sheet reviews and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

Manage funding structures and support investment decisions through capital allocation analysis.

Oversee mergers, acquisitions, and disposals, from due diligence to execution.

Collaborate with IT teams for financial system development and process automation.

Lead and mentor financial managers, fostering professional growth and succession planning.

Qualifications & ExperienceProfessional Certification: ICAN (Chartered Accountant of Nigeria) or CA(SA).

Education: Minimum of HND/BSc in Accounting or a related field.

Experience: 8-10 years in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Expertise in Nigerian Finance and Tax Legislation.

Strong commercial analysis skills, cost modeling, and governance compliance.

Proven track record of leading, building, and inspiring finance teams.

Advanced knowledge in financial planning, management, budgeting, and cost control.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on business performance improvement.
