Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first-ever triple-folding smartphone. The special-edition handset, which opens into a tablet-sized screen, will go on sale globally starting December 12.

The Galaxy Z TriFold carries a retail price of $2,443, making it more than twice the cost of Apple’s latest iPhone 17. Samsung acknowledged that the model is positioned as a limited, high-end innovation showcase rather than a mainstream device, citing the engineering complexity and cutting-edge hardware behind it.
Samsung’s new form factor unfolds from phone mode into a full 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, providing a tablet-like experience for productivity and creative work. When folded, users can rely on a smaller 6.5-inch outer screen for quick tasks.
The company says the triple-hinge design enables “increased possibilities for creating and working,” offering multitasking features similar to a compact laptop when paired with the improved Samsung DeX desktop interface.
The Galaxy Z TriFold features premium internals, including a Snapdragon 8-series flagship processor, 16GB RAM, and storage options up to 1TB. A triple-camera setup led by a high-resolution main sensor supports advanced photography, while a 5,600mAh battery powers the expanded display area.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, 5G, and improved hinge durability with titanium reinforcement.
