The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has rolled out a major upgrade to its Diaspora NIN Enrolment Platform to strengthen security and enhance service delivery for Nigerians living overseas.

Announced via its official X account, the move aims to streamline operations, reduce fraud risks, and offer a smoother user experience for applicants abroad.

NIMC has mandated all accredited Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) to activate their licences within 48 hours or risk suspension from enrolment activities. “The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has enhanced its diaspora enrolment platform for better security and efficiency.

Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) must activate their licences within 48 hours to resume services,” the commission stated, urging partners needing assistance to contact nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng.

The upgraded platform allows Nigerians abroad to enrol or update their National Identification Number (NIN) without physically visiting Nigeria, bridging accessibility gaps. FEPs act as intermediaries, securely capturing biometric and personal data for submission to NIMC.

Within Nigeria, NIN enrolment services remain fully operational, with centre locations available at nimc.gov.ng. Nigerians can also update their NIN data via the Self-Service Modification Portal and verify credentials using the NINAuth App, available on iOS and Google Play.

This upgrade marks a significant step in NIMC’s ongoing efforts to safeguard identity systems, improve efficiency, and ensure that Nigerians, wherever they reside, can securely access vital identification services.
