Music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has proposed to Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State. The announcement came via a video released on Thursday morning, putting an end to weeks of speculation regarding their relationship.
Just a day before the proposal, on Wednesday, 2Baba publicly expressed his affection for Natasha. He emphasized her integrity, dismissing any rumors that she was involved in his previous marital issues with Annie Idibia. “Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker,” 2Baba stated, defending Natasha’s character. “She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.”
The proposal video showed Natasha visibly moved by the moment, though she did not verbally respond immediately. Her emotional reaction suggested she was overwhelmed by the gesture, indicating her acceptance of 2Baba’s proposal.
The relationship had been under the public eye for some time, with speculation intensifying after 2Baba was spotted at the Edo State Assembly. Further sightings of the couple at a Lagos club added fuel to the rumors. Prior to the proposal, 2Baba had attempted to quash these rumors with a cryptic social media post: “To Whom It May kwansighn. #I don yarn my truth. Feel free to continue alleging. We shall all be alright.”
As news of the engagement spread across social media on Thursday, reactions were mixed. While many congratulated the couple, others questioned the timing of the announcement. However, 2Baba was resolute in his decision, stating, “Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”
This development marks a new chapter for both 2Baba and Natasha Osawaru, as they navigate their relationship in the public eye. The engagement has not only captured the attention of fans but also sparked discussions on personal relationships and public perception in the entertainment industry.
