Kemi Badenoch Unveils New “Golden Economic Rule”: Every Penny We Save Will Be Put To Work

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has outlined a bold new fiscal vision for the United Kingdom during her closing speech at the party’s annual conference in Manchester.

Addressing party members, Badenoch announced the introduction of what she called a “golden economic rule” — a commitment to channel at least half of any savings from government spending cuts towards reducing the national deficit and debt.

“Every pound we save will be put to work,” Badenoch declared. “At least half will go towards cutting the deficit, because living within our means is our first priority.”

The Conservative leader emphasized that Britain’s economy has been “stagnating” and that decisive action is needed to restore growth and fiscal responsibility.

Earlier in the conference, Badenoch had also revealed plans for the UK to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and deport up to 150,000 people a year as part of a tougher immigration policy.

She argued that these measures are necessary to reassert national sovereignty and strengthen the country’s borders, while also ensuring that Britain’s economic policies prioritize stability and accountability.

The new economic framework, according to Badenoch, is aimed at rebuilding trust in government spending, fostering long-term growth, and ensuring that future generations inherit a more financially secure nation.
