IshK Tolaram is hiring: Communications Officer

IshK Tolaram Foundation is seeking a highly motivated, creative content creator & communications specialist to join their team.

About the role

As the Communications Officer. The ideal candidate should have extensive, hands-on experience in producing a range of digital and print materials. This role is crucial for developing and distributing compelling content that enhances the brand presence, engages the audience, and supports the programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and editing high-quality content, including social media posts, basic videos, and program collateral.

Responsibilities

1. Co-create and execute country communications strategy

•Develop and implement outreach strategies for each program focus area

•Design and produce basic print and digital materials, such as program flyers and brochures

•Create and edit short-form videos for social media and marketing efforts

•Develop and manage engaging social media content, including posts, graphics, and videos, to foster an online community

•Capture authentic visual impact stories of core programs

•Maintain a database of photos, audio, and video content for each program

2. Support brand representation by internal and external stakeholders

•Develop and maintain visual and written collateral to represent programs externally

•Develop branding for internal and external events, like graduation ceremonies, mobile camps, etc.

•Support team members in being effective brand ambassadors

•Review and endorse brand representation by stakeholders, i.e., partners, media, and Tolaram entities

3. Develop relevant connections to support communication work

•Liaise strategically with media entities to represent our work

•Connect with vendors as required (freelance graphic designers, videographers, and photographers) to support all audio-visual communication needs

4. Support the organization’s communication administration

•Support onboarding of new employees in Nigeria in line with the global onboarding process

•Support physical branding needs, e.g., infrastructure, wearables, stationery, ID cards

•Collate and report quarterly impact accurately to HQ

•Conduct periodic training of team members on branding and communication

5. Develop communications expertise within the local context

•Attend approved conferences and educational opportunities to upgrade knowledge and skills related to Ishk’s purpose and focus areas in Nigeria

•Keep abreast of local current trends and research in social impact communications to inform strategy

•Represent the Foundation to share about their work at relevant conferences and events, including at events organized by our grant partners

Skills

● Deep, hands-on experience in designing collateral (fliers, etc) and creating social media content.

● Proven proficiency in basic video editing/short-form video creation (CapCut, iMovie)

● Strong command of design software like Canva, Adobe Express, or other similar tools.

● Demonstrated experience in social media management and analytics.

● Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

● Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

● Good command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Academic / Work Experience

● Minimum Education Level: University Graduate

● Minimum of 4 years of previous work experience

● Previous work experience in marketing and/or corporate communication required

● Experience in the social sector is an added advantage
