KIRCT is Hiring: Social Media and Web Content (WordPress) Expert

The Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) in Kano, Nigeria, is excited to provide an opportunity for a Social Media and Web Content (WordPress) Specialist. Launched in 2013 by Pfizer Inc. on behalf of the Kano State Government, KIRCT is a leading biomedical research centre focused on resolving priority health issues in Nigeria and the world. We are inviting a creative and innovative specialist to contribute to our online presence, maintenance of our WordPress site, and engagement with our audience through creative social media content. Join us and be part of disseminating our innovative clinical trials, genomics, and public health activities to the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance research visibility and engagement
• Create engaging content showcasing research findings and events.
• Analyze engagement metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness.
• Collaborate with researchers to simplify complex data for social media platforms (e.g Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook etc).
• Manage online communities and address research-related inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication, Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology or related field.
• Certification in Media Relations is a plus.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in media relations, communications, or public relations.
• Proven success in managing media campaigns and media outreach.
• Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop) and video editing (Adobe Premiere, CapCut).
• Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly

Skills

• Strong communication, writing, and editing skills.
• Expertise in social media platforms, media monitoring tools, and digital marketing.
• Excellent networking and project management abilities.
• Design and update content on the KIRCT website, ensuring it aligns with social media efforts.
• Basic knowledge of web design (WordPress).
• Experience with graphic design tools and content management systems (CMS).
