Job Summary

DIGITAL AFRICA is looking for a highly motivated Investment Program Intern to provide operational support for the Investment Division’s activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and international team while gaining hands-on experience in investment, startups, and international development.

As an intern, you will play a key role in preparing presentations, managing communication materials, coordinating projects, and assisting in the organization of investment-related events. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for African tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Content Development & Reporting

  • Assist in writing presentations, reports, and summary notes for the Investment Division.
  • Participate in meetings, take detailed notes, and provide concise synthesis reports.
  • Support program monitoring by updating project tracking tools and ensuring internal communication efficiency.
  1. Communication & Social Media Engagement

  • Collaborate with the communications team to prepare content for social media posts.
  • Maintain and update the program’s editorial calendar, ensuring timely publication of updates.
  • Assist in the creation of communication materials, such as newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
  • Suggest best practices to enhance the cluster’s communication strategy.
  1. Event Coordination & Logistics

  • Support the planning and execution of investment-related virtual and physical events.
  • Provide logistical support, including coordinating speaker invitations and managing reservations.
  • Help develop and validate event materials, such as concept notes, schedules, and agendas.
  • Assist in the organization of online fundraising events targeting high-potential investors.
  1. Project & Administrative Support

  • Manage day-to-day project coordination, including administrative follow-ups and internal communication.
  • Support in the development of strategic partnerships with investors, startups, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-functional tasks within the Digital Africa team as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Education & Background

  • Currently pursuing or completed an MBA, MSc, or equivalent in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Background in investment, startups, entrepreneurship, or international development organizations is a plus.
  1. Key Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize information effectively.
  • Organized, autonomous, and detail-oriented, with strong project management capabilities.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including investors, service providers, and corporate partners.
  • Curious, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for innovation and African tech ecosystems.
  1. Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Prior experience with content creation, social media management, or marketing.
  • Familiarity with startup ecosystems, investment funding, or venture capital.
  • Knowledge of French or another language spoken in Africa is an advantage.
