Dangote Slashes Petrol Price to N841, Begins Free Fuel Distribution Monday

Dangote Refinery petrol price

The Dangote Refinery will officially begin its free fuel distribution programme on Monday.

According to Group spokesman Anthony Chiejina, the scheme will commence in Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States, with more states to follow as logistics expand.

Alongside the free distribution, petrol prices will drop to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, and N851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta.

This price slash is expected to offer relief to millions of motorists grappling with high transportation costs in a challenging economic climate.

The scheme had initially been scheduled for August but was delayed due to logistics challenges in China.

With over 1,000 trucks now received by the refinery, the roll-out has gained momentum, supported by the company’s ambitious plan to deploy 10,000 CNG-powered trucks in 2025.

Dangote emphasized that despite recent spikes in compressed natural gas (CNG) prices, the company remains committed to its large-scale CNG truck deployment.

The move is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s logistics capacity, cut costs across the domestic supply chain, and enhance fuel distribution efficiency.

With cheaper petrol and free distribution in key states, Dangote is directly influencing fuel affordability and energy accessibility for millions of Nigerians.
