Dangote Refinery Cuts PMS Price to ₦774 Per Litre

Dangote Refinery PMS price

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a ₦25 reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lowering its ex-depot rate from ₦799 to ₦774 per litre.

The refinery communicated the adjustment to marketers on Tuesday, stating that the new price takes immediate effect nationwide.

“This is to notify you of a change in our PMS gantry price from ₦799 per litre to ₦774 per litre,” the management said in a formal notice dated February 10, 2026.

Boost for Local Refining Competitiveness

The latest price adjustment strengthens the competitiveness of locally refined petrol in Nigeria’s downstream market. The current landing cost of imported PMS from Lomé is estimated at ₦793 per litre, significantly higher than Dangote Refinery’s revised ex-depot price.

The move positions the refinery as a more attractive supply source for marketers and could exert downward pressure on retail pump prices, depending on distribution margins and logistics costs.

Tuesday’s reduction in ex-depot price is the latest in the adjustment of the cost of the essential commodity, which observers said is mostly driven by the exchange rate and global crude oil prices, among others.

Last year, the ex-depot cost of the commodity moved largely between N700 and over N800 per litre, affecting the pump price of PMS across Nigeria.
