Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N990 per litre to N970 per litre for marketers.
The announcement was made in a press statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, on November 24, 2024. The price cut is described as a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians for their steadfast support in making the refinery’s vision a reality. It also acknowledges the government’s role in fostering policies that promote domestic enterprise for the benefit of the nation’s economy.
“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true. This reduction is also to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement reads.
The statement also reassures the public of Dangote Refinery’s commitment to maintaining high-quality, environmentally friendly, and sustainable petroleum products. Furthermore, the company emphasized its determination to ramp up production, ensuring sufficient supply for domestic fuel consumption and dispelling any fears of shortages.
This reduction in fuel prices is expected to ease the financial burden on consumers while reinforcing Dangote Refinery’s role as a key player in stabilizing the Nigerian energy sector.
