There is no dearth of airlines going to Senegal’s capital, Dakar from Nigeria – Air France, jetBlue, Emirates, Royal Air Maroc, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, among others. The price starts from N280,000 per return ticket. Barring any stopovers, it takes only four hours by air. If you choose to go by road, it is about 47 hours to Dakar. From Dakar, you can proceed to Casamance by air, road or ferry. Flying from Blaise Diagne Airport, Diass (43km from Dakar) to Ziguinchor Airport, the closest to Casamance is only 45 minutes. Meanwhile going by ferry takes 12 hours and going by road is slightly faster. For comfort though, ferry travel is the next-best option after air, except the traveller hopes to see Gambia as part of the trip.
