There is a need for a highly strategic and results-driven Export Procurement and Sales Manager to oversee the end-to-end export process of an agricultural firm.
This dual-focus role is critical to success, requiring expertise in both sourcing quality products domestically (procurement) and profitably selling them in international markets (sales). The ideal candidate will be a commercial leader adept at supplier negotiation, market penetration, logistics coordination, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing:
- Develop and implement a robust procurement strategy to source export-quality products from reliable local suppliers and farmers.
- Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and ensure a sustainable supply chain.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
- Implement quality control procedures and standards from the point of sourcing through to shipment.
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, and build a resilient supplier network.
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute the export sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets in key international markets.
- Identify, target, and secure new international buyers, distributors, and partners.
- Prepare and negotiate sales contracts, Incoterms, and pricing with international clients.
- Lead the development of sales presentations, quotations, and promotional materials tailored to the export market.
- Attend international trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer meetings to promote company products.
Operations & Logistics Coordination:
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, NEPC) to ensure seamless documentation and shipment.
- Oversee all export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and phytosanitary certificates.
- Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations, destination country import laws, and quality standards.
Financial & Reporting:
- Prepare and manage the budget for both procurement and sales activities.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, procurement costs, inventory levels, and market intelligence to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of [e.g., 5-7] years of proven experience in export management, with a strong track record in both procurement/sourcing and international sales.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade procedures, documentation, Incoterms, and payment methods (LC, TT, etc.).

Renumeration: ₦550,000.00 – ₦700,000.00 per month
