The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has launched a landmark N100 billion Education Scholarship Initiative, one of the largest privately funded education support programmes in Africa.
The official unveiling will take place on Thursday, 11 December 2025, at Eko Hotel, Lagos, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM prompt.
According to the Foundation, the new initiative is designed to broaden access to quality education for young Nigerians across multiple levels, with a structured focus on science, technical training, and girls’ education. The programme brings together three major scholarship tracks aimed at addressing critical talent gaps in Nigeria’s education and labour markets.
Scholarship Categories
At the undergraduate level, the STEM Scholars Programme will provide full funding and academic support to students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The STEM track covers fields such as engineering, technology innovation, healthcare science, and mathematics.
The Foundation will also support practical workforce development through the Technical Scholars Programme, which targets students in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Beneficiaries will receive financial assistance for specialised skills training in fields expected to contribute directly to Nigeria’s industrial growth.
In addition, ADF is introducing the MHF Scholars Programme, a dedicated scheme for secondary school girls, aimed at improving retention, academic progression, and equal access to educational opportunities for girls across the country.
The N100 billion initiative underscores the Dangote Foundation’s long-standing commitment to education as a catalyst for national development and with focused investments in STEM disciplines, vocational training, and female education, the programme is expected to expand opportunities for thousands of young Nigerians and strengthen the country’s human capital base over the coming years.
