UAE Launches nomination-based Golden Visa program, Offering Lifetime Residency Without Investment

The United Arab Emirates has launched a nomination-based Golden Visa program, now offering lifetime residency without investment. Aimed at skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and cultural contributors, this move signals a strategic shift from wealth-based to merit-based immigration.

Unlike previous Golden Visa models, which required a minimum AED 2 million real estate investment, the new route allows qualified individuals to secure permanent UAE residency with a one-time fee of AED 100,000. No property purchases, business setup, or ongoing financial obligations are necessary.

This 2025 Golden Visa update prioritizes talent, not capital. Eligibility hinges on nomination and proven contributions across sectors like science, culture, finance, trade, startups, and professional services.

Currently in its pilot phase, the program is open, “This isn’t a random lottery; it’s a targeted recruitment of talent and value-adders,” a spokesperson noted.

Applications undergo rigorous background checks, AML compliance, and social media behavior reviews, ensuring only credible and purpose-driven individuals are selected.

Applicants can apply via online channels or designated call centers, after which shortlisted profiles are forwarded for final approval. Once granted, the residency is lifelong, regardless of future employment or property status in the UAE.

Beyond the visa itself, recipients enjoy a host of benefits—family sponsorship, business ownership rights, the ability to employ staff, and freedom from the constant renewal cycles typical of long-term visas. The Golden Visa’s permanence makes it a compelling alternative to traditional expatriate residency options.

This visa reflects the UAE’s strategic pivot toward becoming a global talent hub.

By removing capital barriers, the UAE is aiming to recruit minds, not just money. Professionals with vision, credibility, and the drive to contribute meaningfully to the Emirates’ future are being invited to build in the UAE.

The UAE Golden Visa 2025 may be the most accessible and valuable international residency opportunity in decades.
