India, one of the most populated nations on earth, boasts of a GDP of  3.57 trillion U.S. dollars as of 2023. By 2029, the country’s GDP is projected to reach an outstanding 6 trillion dollars.

The nation’s economy is diversified, with contributions from technology, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing sectors. India is also a leading player in the global services industry, especially in information technology, where it has carved out a reputation as a major outsourcing center.

Additionally, with a young, dynamic population and a strong push towards digitalization, India is enabling innovation and entrepreneurship at a fast pace. These growths are pushed by various companies and pioneering founders.

Shiv Nadar

Nadar, the founder of HCL Technologies, is one of India’s wealthiest tech billionaires.

According to Forbes , he’s 39th place in a list of the top billionaires in the world with a net worth of over 36.9 Billion dollars.

His fortune is attributed to his pioneering role in the IT sector. He has also contributed to education through his philanthropic efforts.

The company, as of June 2024, has a total revenue of $13.4 billion.

2. Azim Premji

Known for leading Wipro for decades, Premji is another tech industry giant.

The billionaire is ranked 165th richest man in the world with a net worth of around 12 billion dollars.

Under his leadership, Wipro evolved into a global IT powerhouse.

The company, according to Statista. boasts a revenue of 898 billion Indian rupees in 2024 alone.

Although he stepped down in 2019, his son Rishad Premji now heads the company.

 

3. N.R. Narayana Murthy

A co-founder of Infosys, Murthy is celebrated for building one of India’s leading IT services companies, which played a crucial role in establishing India as an outsourcing destination.

The 78-year-old is worth more than 4.7  billion dollars, coming 661st in the world.

His company, as of 2024, is worth more than 18.6 million dollars.

 

4. Sanjeev Bikhchandani

Sanjeev, founder of Info Edge, is a pioneering figure in India’s tech industry.

He is a leading pioneer worth over 4.25 billion dollars.

Info Edge, founded in 1995, became well-known for launching Naukri.com, one of India’s first online job portals, in 1997.

The company, as of 2024,the company  has a total revenue of $354 million USD

 

5. Sridhar Vembu

As the founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation, Vembu has built a successful software company known for its suite of productivity and business applications.

He stays at number 1330 of the richest people in the world with a net worth of 2.5 billion dollars.

As of February 2024, the company has a total revenue of 1 billion dollars.
