Ezekiel Nathaniel has become the first Nigerian man to make the 400m hurdles final at the World Athletics championships since Henry Amike in 1987 – 38 years ago.
The Nigerian won the second semifinal of the men’s 400-meter Hurdles at the ongoing Tokyo 2025 World Championships with a time of 47.47s to place ahead of Qatar’s Ismail Abakar (47.61s) and Caleb Dean of the USA (47.85s). The final of the event is scheduled for Friday, September 19 2025.
