Resolution First, Then We Train – Troost-Ekong Demands Fair Play Before Gabon Clash

“Once resolution is found we will be the first to confirm,” declared Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, firmly setting the tone as Nigeria’s national team boycotted training on Wednesday over unpaid bonuses—just 24 hours before their do-or-die 2026 World Cup playoff against Gabon.

Speaking directly on X, Troost-Ekong warned:

“Any other statement/claim or eSPECIAALLY demands other than the rightful request written about below is FALSE. All we want and continue to do is focus on the big games ahead.”

The boycott, confirmed by journalist Olúwashínà Okelèjí, involves the entire squad and officials refusing to train in Morocco until outstanding payments are settled.

The team remains in camp, awaiting swift action from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

With the crucial second-leg match set for November 13, Troost-Ekong’s message is clear: no distractions, no false narratives—just resolution, respect, and football.

The Super Eagles need a win to stay in contention for World Cup qualification. Until the books are balanced, the boots stay off.
