Lafarge Africa Plc on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 held its 61st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos. Shareholders of the company ratified the audited financial statements for the year ended on 31st December 2019 and approved the payment of N1 dividend per share. They also welcomed the incoming Chairman, Mr. Adebode Adefioye and thanked the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Mobolaji Balogun for the services rendered to the company over 15 years. Mr. Balogun left the Board of Lafarge as the performance of the company underwent a significant turnaround. The year 2019 witnessed strong sales volumes and net income improvements as well as a remarkable jump in profitability. The AGM was held by proxy in compliance with the guidelines of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and in adherence to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. It was attended by shareholders representing a broad category of individuals and institutional investors, representatives of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, members of the board and executives of the company. The meeting was streamed live on YouTube enabling all shareholders to observe proceedings.
