Pamela Yough, Adamu Lawani, and Louis Odom Join Zenith Bank Board as Directors to Replace Bello Maccido, Mrs. Bola Adesola

Zenith Bank Plc has announced the appointment of three new directors—Pamela Mimi Yough, Mr. Adamu Saliu Lawani, and Mr. Louis Odom—to its board following resolutions passed at the bank’s 34th Annual General Meeting held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Pamela Yough was appointed as a Non-Executive Director, while Adamu Lawani and Louis Odom joined the board as Executive Directors.

The AGM also marked the retirement of two Non-Executive Directors—Bello Maccido and Mrs. Bola Adesola—whose tenures had come to an end. Shareholders at the meeting passed resolutions acknowledging their retirement and approving the appointments of the new directors.

Profiles of the New Directors

Pamela Mimi Yough

Pamela Yough brings over 35 years of experience in the financial sector, encompassing corporate and investment banking, treasury, correspondent banking, investor relations, and wealth management. She served as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank (UK) Limited from June 2017 to October 2021. Prior to that, she held various leadership roles within Zenith Bank Plc, including General Manager and Group Head overseeing Multilaterals, Conglomerates, Private Banking, and Investor Relations. Ms. Yough holds a BSc in Marketing from Pace University, New York, and an MBA from Long Island University, USA. She is also an alumna of Oxford University, Stanford University, MIT, and the University of Cambridge, having attended various leadership and advanced management programs. She is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) London

Mr. Adamu Saliu Lawani

Mr. Lawani is a seasoned Chartered Accountant with over three decades of banking industry experience. He joined Zenith Bank in 1996 and has held leadership positions across various departments, including Corporate Banking, Conglomerate, Consumer Credit, Export and Trade Finance, and Agriculture Finance. He holds an MBA from both the University of Lagos and The Business School in the Netherlands. Mr. Lawani is a Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Institute of Credit Administration, the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Chartered Institute of Strategic Management. He is also an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Mr. Louis Odom

Mr. Odom has been with Zenith Bank since January 1997, bringing extensive experience in operations, credit, and marketing. He has served in various capacities, including as General Manager overseeing the Abuja and Northern Zones. Prior to joining Zenith Bank, he worked at Diamond Bank. Mr. Odom holds a degree in Accountancy from Abia State University, an MBA from the University of Liverpool, UK, and an M.Phil in Management from Nile University of Nigeria. He has attended executive education programs at institutions such as the London Business School, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard Business School, and Lagos Business School. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

These appointments and retirements are part of Zenith Bank’s ongoing strategy to refresh its leadership and sustain strong corporate governance practices. All motions on director appointments and retirements, as well as other resolutions relating to the adoption of audited accounts, payment of dividends, and authorization of the board to fix external auditors’ remuneration, were passed by shareholders at

the meeting.
