OpenAI has rolled out new sets of updates for ChatGPT, integrating it with Gmail and Google Drive to deliver highly contextual, productivity-boosting responses.

The company revealed that its enterprise-grade AI tools now serve over 3 million paying users, a testament to ChatGPT’s growing dominance in the AI assistant landscape.

This latest upgrade allows ChatGPT to tap directly into Gmail and Google Drive, accessing emails and files to provide personalized, context-aware answers for users on paid plans like Team, Enterprise, and Education.

Beyond Google, ChatGPT now syncs with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Dropbox, SharePoint, and Box, creating a unified hub for managing data across platforms while respecting user permissions.

OpenAI’s new Model Context Protocol (MCP) empowers businesses to build custom connectors, linking ChatGPT to proprietary systems and turning it into a centralized knowledge powerhouse.

This feature enables teams to query internal databases, web content, and third-party apps seamlessly within the ChatGPT interface, enhancing enterprise AI capabilities.

For Mac users on the Team plan, a groundbreaking record mode captures audio from meetings or voice notes, transcribing them into summaries, action plans, or even executable code.

Memory enhancements are also front and center, with free users gaining a lightweight version that recalls recent chats and preferences for more tailored replies.

Paid subscribers, meanwhile, unlock a robust memory system that leverages extensive chat history and saved settings, making the AI assistant smarter with every interaction.

OpenAI has further expanded access to Codex, its AI coding assistant, now available to Plus subscribers in addition to business users.

With new internet connectivity, Codex can write, debug, and test code, pulling in packages or interacting with staging environments—though users must opt in and define strict access controls.

These advancements reflect OpenAI’s vision of ChatGPT as a “super assistant,” seamlessly woven into daily workflows across personal and professional spheres.

Privacy remains a priority, with customizable settings allowing users to manage or disable memory features to safeguard their data.

From Gmail integration and Google Drive sync to custom connectors and enterprise AI tools, ChatGPT is redefining what an AI assistant can achieve.
