Location : Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description 

Opay is looking for an experienced and strategic PR Manager to lead their public relations efforts and strengthen the company’s brand image across Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have strong media relationships, excellent storytelling skills, and a deep understanding of both traditional and digital PR tactics to amplify Opay’s voice and reputation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Craft and execute PR strategies that boost brand awareness and align with OPay’s mission.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with journalists, influencers, and other key voices.

  • Own the creation of press releases, media statements, and communication during crises.

  • Stay on the pulse of public conversations, guiding how our brand shows up in the media.

  • Organize press events, coordinate interviews, and secure speaking engagements for company leaders.

  • Work closely with teams across marketing, legal, and leadership to ensure message alignment.

  • Track media coverage, analyze performance, and share insights that guide our strategy.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in PR, preferably in fintech or a fast-paced industry.

  • A strong network of media contacts and a proven track record of leading successful PR campaigns.

  • Excellent storytelling and writing skills — you know how to capture attention.

  • Confidence under pressure and the ability to manage multiple deadlines at once.
