Onyedika Brace Powers Nigeria to 3–1 Victory in AFCON Group C Clash

Nigeria recorded a convincing 3–1 victory over Uganda in their Africa Cup of Nations Group C encounter, showing attacking efficiency despite moments of resistance from the hosts.

The Super Eagles took control in the first half when Paul Onuachu broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, calmly finishing after a well-weighted pass from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Uganda tried to respond with a more physical approach but struggled to create clear chances before the break.

The game turned decisively in Nigeria’s favour after the restart.

Uganda were reduced to ten men in the 57th minute following a red card for J. Salim, a setback that left them exposed at the back.

Nigeria quickly capitalised as Raphael Onyedika struck twice within four minutes, both goals set up by Samuel Chukwueze, to stretch the lead to 3–0.

Uganda managed a late consolation goal in the 75th minute through R. Mato, who converted from close range after an assist by A. Okello, but the comeback hopes ended there.

The match also saw several bookings, including cautions for players on both sides as the contest grew intense in the closing stages.
