Ololade Akinmurele has replaced Tayo Fagbule as the editor of BusinessDay following the latter’s new appointment as CNBC’s West Africa Bureau chief.

Ololade Akinmurele was previously Deputy Editor at BusinessDay Nigeria, a position he has occupied since 2016. Before that, he served Assistant Editor / Head of Economics & Markets Desk, Senior Analyst & Companies Editor, and Multimedia news content producer all at BusinessDay.
He has also worked in advertising for National Mirror newspapers and was a teacher at Edo College during his NYSC days.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos and a Master’s in International Law & Diplomacy from the same University. Additionally, he holds professional certifications from organisations such as Citibank, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and the International Monetary Fund.
