No Additional Payment Required For Tinted Glass Permits – Nigerian Police

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has revealed that no additional payments are required to obtain the tinted glass Permits.

The police states the physical inspection process for tinted permit applications also does not require additional payments and any request for such illegitimate charges should be reported to the police immediately by calling: 09169907000.

About the Tinted Glass Permit

The Tinted Glass Permit is a move which comes in response to rising concerns and complaints from the public over the harassment of vehicle owners by law enforcement agents for using factory-fitted tinted windows.

This permit has become necessary as vehicles are increasingly factory – fitted with tinted glass which has been exploited by certain criminal elements.

How to Obtain Tinted Glass Permit

To obtain the tinted glass Permits, one can log on to www.npf.gov.ng

Click tinted permit link on the quick-link menu.

Fill the registration form on the right to obtain an Application ID.

Complete the Application Process by Login in with your email and the Application ID electronically generated.

Fill the Bio-Data form when logged-in and enter the details of the Vehicle you want to obtain tinted permit for with the instructions outlined on the page.

Upload your vehicle license, proof of ownership.

Print out the information submitted then take the Print-out to the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in any Police Command, to capture your biometrics.

Applicants applying on medical grounds must upload a medical report obtained from any government hospital and must bring original copies of all relevant documents for verification before their biometric can be captured.

Upon completion of this procedure, your application shall be processed and decisions including issuance of the permit if application is successful shall be conveyed within five working days. Your application will be fully processed after these steps.

Applicants with challenges of processing their application online can go to the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) within their State Police Command or the FHQ Abuja for support.
