NNPC Ltd. to Hold Suppliers Summit to Introduce SAP Ariba Network

The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced plans to hold a suppliers summit to introduce its SAP Ariba network as part of its digital strategy aimed at improving its performance.

The NNPC suppliers summit scheduled for 3rd of December, 2024 is themed, ‘Reshaping the Future of Procurement and Supplier Management’. The summit is aimed at making participants aware of the process of registering and creating supplier profile on the NNPC Ariba Platform, Navigating the functionalities of the platform as well as exposing them to best practices for successful collaboration with the NNPC.

NNPC SAP Ariba Network

The NNPC SAP Ariba Network is a secure marketplace put up by the NNPC which uses SAP Ariba to help the NNPC streamline its Petrol procurement process.

Moving forward the NNPC Ariba platform is to be used by the NNPC to handle all stages of procurement including issuance of RFQs/RFPs,
submission and evaluation of bids, contract negotiations, issuance of Purchase Orders, and processing of invoices.

The platform is also part of NNPC’s efforts to enhance suppliers’ experience, minimize human interface, improve process transparency and at the same time foster collaboration and global best practice.

Speaking on the platform in a statement on his X handle on Thursday, Uzoma Emelife, the company’s chief supply chain officer stated the platform is a part of the NNPC’s general strategy to enhance efficiency.

“This remarkable step will bring our esteemed vendors in touch with contracting opportunities on the NNPC Ariba Platform, a secure and exclusive marketplace tailored for end-to-end procurement of goods and services.

“We are confident that this enablement will further enhance the petroleum industry contracting cycle efficiency and reduce costs in line with the Presidential Directive on Reduction of Petroleum Sector Contracting Costs and Timelines, 2024.” Emelife noted.

When Does The NNPC Ariba Platform Come Aboard

The NNPC Ariba platform is set to begin by 1st January, 2025, hence the reason the NNPC is involving suppliers from its onset. Once the platform comes onboard, all procurement processes effectively goes digital.
