The Nigerian Senate has confirmed plans to recruit an additional 30,000 youth into the Nigerian Police Force. This aims to ensure proper policing and bridge existing manpower gaps.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori. He represents Jigawa North East and said the Police Service Commission has been approved by the president to recruit more police officers.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the commission go go-ahead to recruit the number (30,000) every year to fill the gap in the Force.” He said.
He added that the Police Service Commission will officially announce the recruitment through national newspapers and other trusted platforms, and also urged Nigerians to remain cautious and avoid scammers during the recruitment process.
