New moon sighted in Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto Announces Sunday as Eid 2025

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar in a nationwide broadcast, has announced the end of the 2025 Ramadan s following the sighting of the new moon by Muslim leaders across the country.

This development comes hours after Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iran announced the sighting of a new moon and declared Sunday as Eid-el-Fitr.

The announcement officially brings a close the the 1446 Ramadan season 2025.

Happy Eid El Fitr to all Muslim faithfuls.
