MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola Appointed MTN VP For Francophone Africa in Leadership Shake up

MTN Nigeria CEO, Dr. Karl Toriola has been appointed as the company’s Vice President for francophone Africa as part of a wider leadership shake up carried out by the company.

Dr. Toriola, before becoming MTN Nigeria CEO served as MTN Vice President for West and Central Africa between 2015 and 2021. In his new role, Dr. Toriola would be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, strategy, and growth across French-speaking African countries where MTN operates.

Leadership Repositioning Across Africa

In other changes, MTN South Africa CEO Charles Molapisi was reassigned as the group’s Chief Technology and Information Officer, with a new focus on accelerating AI adoption whilst  Ferdi Moolman who previously served as MTN Nigeria CEO takes his place.

Ebenezer Asante takes over as VP of Ghana, Southern and East Africa while Selorm Adadevoh takes over as the group’s  Chief Commercial, Strategy and Transformation Officer.

Speaking on these changes, Ralph Mupita, MTN Group President and CEO said  “These leadership changes illustrate the depth of talent and experience we have across the Group. The changes will support the accelerated execution of our strategy beyond 2025 as well as greater value creation for stakeholders over the medium term.”

These changes align with MTN’s ‘Ambition 2025’ plan, which aims to transform MTN into Africa’s leading digital platform.
