Manchester United Thrash Wolves 4–1 as Mount Shines

Manchester United delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season with a 4–1 victory over Wolves at Molineux, raising new questions about whether Ruben Amorim’s side is finally finding consistency — or if another setback may still be “around the corner.”

United looked sharp and aggressive from the start, producing 27 shots, their highest tally in a Premier League match under Amorim.

The win places Manchester United sixth in the Premier League table, keeping them within reach of the Champions League positions ahead of their next match against Bournemouth on 15 December.

Wolves’ Struggles Intensify

Wolves, suffering from poor form and a tense atmosphere within the fanbase, managed to claw one goal back through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde — their first goal in 540 minutes.

But United regained control after halftime, exposing Wolves’ defensive frailties and extending their own lead with confidence.

The result leaves Wolves still battling near the lower end of the standings as new manager Rob Edwards searches for solutions.

Mason Mount Leading the Charge

One of the standout performers was Mason Mount, who returned to the starting XI and scored his third goal in his last four starts.

The midfielder, named Premier League Man of the Match, expressed satisfaction with both his personal form and the team’s second-half response.

Mount praised United’s attacking combinations and said he feels increasingly comfortable in Amorim’s system, one he has played in previously.

“I feel now I really need to keep pushing on,” Mount said. “Getting goals is important, and I want to build on these performances.”

With Benjamin Šeško injured and Bryan Mbeumo preparing for AFCON duty, Mount’s resurgence offers Amorim valuable attacking depth.

What’s Next for Manchester United?

United now turn their attention to Bournemouth, a side that has beaten them 3–0 on their last two visits to Old Trafford.

Depending on other results, United could climb as high as fourth — or slide back toward mid-table — highlighting how tight the Premier League standings remain.
