The Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) in Kano, Nigeria, is excited to provide an opportunity for a Social Media and Web Content (WordPress) Specialist. Launched in 2013 by Pfizer Inc. on behalf of the Kano State Government, KIRCT is a leading biomedical research centre focused on resolving priority health issues in Nigeria and the world. We are inviting a creative and innovative specialist to contribute to our online presence, maintenance of our WordPress site, and engagement with our audience through creative social media content. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance research visibility and engagement
- Create engaging content showcasing research findings and events.
- Analyze engagement metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with researchers to simplify complex data for social media platforms (e.g Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook etc).
- Manage online communities and address research-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication, Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology or related field.
- Certification in Media Relations is a plus.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in media relations, communications, or public relations.
- Proven success in managing media campaigns and media outreach.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop) and video editing (Adobe Premiere, CapCut).
- Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
Skills
- Strong communication, writing, and editing skills.
- Expertise in social media platforms, media monitoring tools, and digital marketing.
- Excellent networking and project management abilities.
- Design and update content on the KIRCT website, ensuring it aligns with social media efforts.
- Basic knowledge of web design (WordPress).
- Experience with graphic design tools and content management systems (CMS).
