American pop star Justin Timberlake is set to return to the Hamptons after reaching a plea agreement in his driving while intoxicated (DWI) case. Timberlake, a Grammy-winning artist known for hits like “Cry Me a River,” will attend a court hearing in person this Friday, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The hearing is scheduled to take place at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on Long Island, New York. Timberlake will be entering a plea related to his arrest in June, when he was accused of driving under the influence. The specifics of the plea agreement and the exact plea Timberlake will enter have not been disclosed. NBC News has reached out to his attorney for further details.

Timberlake, aged 43, was pulled over on June 18 around 12:15 a.m. ET in the upscale Hamptons area. According to reports, the singer was stopped after allegedly running a stop sign. He was arrested following a failed field sobriety test and was released hours later after his arraignment, during which he pleaded not guilty.

The arrest report indicates that despite Timberlake’s claim of consuming only “one martini,” police observed signs of intoxication including bloodshot and glassy eyes, a strong smell of alcohol, slowed speech, and unsteady movements. Sag Harbor Village police officer Michael Arkinson noted these symptoms in his complaint.

Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., has stated that he will “vigorously defend” the singer. During a previous court appearance, Timberlake appeared virtually from his tour in Belgium. The judge took the opportunity to suspend Timberlake’s driving license and criticized Burke Jr. for making “irresponsible” comments about law enforcement over the summer.

This case has drawn significant media attention, and Timberlake’s upcoming court appearance will likely be closely followed. The outcome of this hearing could impact Timberlake’s public image and future engagements.

As Timberlake prepares to face the legal consequences of this incident, his fans and the media await further updates on the resolution of his DWI case.
