About the Role
As a Junior Economist within the EM Africa Edge team, you will support Senior Economists in analyzing macroeconomic and market developments across African countries.
The role combines research, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze macroeconomic and market developments in African economies
- Support Senior Economists in research and Africa-focused publications
- Collaborate with EM Edge and EMEA EM teams to formulate market views
- Maintain and improve spreadsheets, datasets, and research processes
- Engage with internal teams and external clients to deliver insights
- Apply statistical programming skills for data-driven analysis
- Contribute to research publications and presentations
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Strong economics knowledge and experience with African economies
- Background in economic research or a related field
- Understanding of political, economic, and business developments in Africa and globally
- Proficiency in data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with statistical programming languages (Eviews, Python, etc.)
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
