This was disclosed by Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during an interview with journalists in Abuja. Ebienfa confirmed that Jonathan left the West African nation aboard a special flight as the political tension in Guinea-Bissau continued to rise.
He explained that the former president departed alongside members of his delegation, including veteran diplomat Ibn Chambas. Such actions were taken as Jonathan Safe departs Guinea-Bissau amid political tension that had been escalating.
“Former President Jonathan is very safe and out of Guinea-Bissau,” Ebienfa said. “He left with a special flight with members of his delegation including Ibn Chambas.”
