  1. Call for Applications: Impact-Linked Fund for WASH

Building on the promising results of the SIINC for WASH programme, Aqua for AII and Roots of Impact are proud to continue their partnership by launching the Impact-Linked Fund for WASH (ILF for WASH). The Impact-Linked Fund for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (ILF for WASH) aims at enabling pioneering impact enterprises in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to gain access to suitable and innovative finance. By using Impact-Linked Finance and providing “better terms for better impact”, these WASH enterprises get equipped to grow their businesses, expand the reach of their solutions, and create impact at scale. This will ultimately contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6, universal access to clean water and sanitation. The water and sanitation sector has a significant financial gap, leaving innovative solutions behind and vulnerable populations unserved. ILF for WASH can fill this gap by providing acceleration support and catalytic financing to mobilize private investments and scale impact enterprises in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The Gender Equality and Macroeconomics (GEM) team at the Bretton Woods project calls for proposals from Global South women’s rights and economic justice organizations who are seeking financial support for programming and advocacy activities that contribute to addressing the ways in which macroeconomic policies promoted by international financial institutions (IFIs) undermine women’s rights and gender equality. The Gender Equality and Macroeconomics (GEM) project at BWP challenges the ways in which macroeconomic policies currently promoted by international financial institutions (IFIs) – in particular the IMF and World Bank – undermine gender equality and women’s rights. With a budget of $35,000, they are able to offer a limited number of organizations grants. They will support projects that align with the aims of the GEM project, and particularly encourage women’s rights organizations to apply. They will prioritize funding smaller organizations who might have less access to mainstream sources of funding.
