  1. Black Feminist Fund

The Black Feminist Fund is now open to Black feminist groups that have bold visions, are using innovative strategies and taking daring action towards self-determination, justice, solidarity and equity. The purpose of the Black Feminist Fund is to significantly increase the resources available to Black feminist movements. When Black feminist groups have the resources they deserve, they are strengthened to transform societies. Moving resources over the long term to Black feminist movements unlocks the power and potential of this change. They aim to put resources in the hands of activists who are advancing their own rights and building their own movements for social change. They work with groups that are led by Black women, girls and gender expansive people.

Grantmaking Funds

They provide all of their grantmaking through two participatory grantmaking Funds:

  • The Sustain Fund: The Fund provides core, long-term, flexible grants to Black feminist groups, collectives, organisations and consortium who work to build collective power, claim justice and create alternatives. From the second year of partnership, they provide grantee partners with opportunities for exchange and learning.
  • The Solidarity Fund: Supports timely, one-off initiatives that respond to or create an opportunity for change; enable solidarity across geographies, movements or people; seed a new project, new collective or new idea; or support wellness, safety and security.

  • They make grants to Black feminist groups that have bold visions, are using innovative strategies and taking daring action towards self-determination, justice, solidarity and equity.
  • They support groups that are constituency-led.
  • The Black Feminist Fund provides funding and accompaniment to Black feminist groups in the Americas, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
  • The Black Feminist Fund resources registered groups that are at the forefront of Black feminist resistance, who are building Black feminist joy, creativity, alternatives and futures, and who strengthen the Black feminist movement architecture and infrastructure in their communities and transnationally.

  1. Call for Applications: Impact-Linked Fund for WASH

 Building on the promising results of the SIINC for WASH programme, Aqua for AII and Roots of Impact are proud to continue their partnership by launching the Impact-Linked Fund for WASH (ILF for WASH). The Impact-Linked Fund for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (ILF for WASH) aims at enabling pioneering impact enterprises in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to gain access to suitable and innovative finance. By using Impact-Linked Finance and providing “better terms for better impact”, these WASH enterprises get equipped to grow their businesses, expand the reach of their solutions, and create impact at scale. This will ultimately contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6, universal access to clean water and sanitation. The water and sanitation sector has a significant financial gap, leaving innovative solutions behind and vulnerable populations unserved. ILF for WASH can fill this gap by providing acceleration support and catalytic financing to mobilize private investments and scale impact enterprises in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Funding Information

  • Selected enterprises will receive regular reward payments of up to EUR 250,000, depending on the level of impact achieved and verified.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, enterprise must:

  • Be based and/or active in Asia, Africa and/or the Middle East;
  • Be operational for at least three years;
  • Be in the process of raising investment(s) of a minimum of EUR 500,000, or have concrete prospects to do so;
  • Have a well-defined business model and strong revenue model, regardless of the legal form;
  • Have reached or have short-term plans for financial sustainability (break-even point and profitability projections);
  • Be impact-driven (priority areas include bottom of the pyramid, gender, and climate)

  1. Tech Against Trafficking Accelerator Program

The Tech Against Trafficking (TAT) is delighted to announce a call for applications for the third TAT Accelerator Program. The Tech Against Trafficking Accelerator is a fixed-term, cohort-based program intended to help organizations deploying promising technological solutions accelerate the development, impact and utilization of their tools. The Accelerator is TAT’s flagship program.   1. GEM: Small Grants Programme Summer 2022

 The Gender Equality and Macroeconomics (GEM) team at the Bretton Woods project calls for proposals from Global South women’s rights and economic justice organizations who are seeking financial support for programming and advocacy activities that contribute to addressing the ways in which macroeconomic policies promoted by international financial institutions (IFIs) undermine women’s rights and gender equality. The Gender Equality and Macroeconomics (GEM) project at BWP challenges the ways in which macroeconomic policies currently promoted by international financial institutions (IFIs) – in particular the IMF and World Bank – undermine gender equality and women’s rights. With a budget of $35,000, they are able to offer a limited number of organizations grants. They will support projects that align with the aims of the GEM project, and particularly encourage women’s rights organizations to apply. They will prioritize funding smaller organizations who might have less access to mainstream sources of funding.

  • Small grants of up to USD $11,500 to be spent directly on project work aligned with the Gender Equality and Macroeconomics (GEM) project aims.

  1. OPPO Research Institute Calls for Proposals with Grants Totaling $460,000

 Oppo is pleased to launch the OPPO Research Institute Innovation Accelerator to empower technology professionals and entrepreneurs that inspiration matters to bring innovative solutions to life and create a better future together, based on the brand value proposition of “Inspiration Ahead”. The Innovation Accelerator is being held by the OPPO Research Institute and Microsoft for Startups as a strategic partner. The program aims to encourage all technology innovators to solve some of the most pressing issues facing humanity even amid times of uncertainty.

Funding Information

  • 300,000 RMB (approximately 46,000 USD) in prize money (for each winning Proposal)

  1. 4th Round of ALIGN Micro-grants Funds

 ALIGN is excited to announce the fourth round of micro-funding to support research to understand how gender norms shape women’s engagement with, influence over, and experiences in governance institutions and decision-making processes, and how they can be transformed. The ALIGN Fund aims to expand the evidence base and support collaboration, expanding networks in a research area historically characterized by limited attention to gender norms. The ALIGN micro-granting facility is a responsive research fund. The micro-grants are intended to support the development of new knowledge and learning, and reflection materials on discriminatory and sexist gender norms, to inform policy and practice.

Funding Information

  • In this round 3-5 small-scale projects will receive funding of up to £20,000 GBP, to initiate or build on existing research and practice, communicate learning and inform future action.
  • They expect to award 3-5 organizations for up to 9 months in duration. Successful applicants will be selected in June 2022, with activities and funding expected to begin from July 2022.
