  1. CFAs Open for the Inaugural AU Media Fellowship

Application for the inaugural African Union Media Fellowship is now open. The fellowship is aimed at experienced journalists who seek to make a change in reporting on Africa, raising awareness and breaking stereotypes.

Fellowship Programme

The Fellowship programme will kick-off with a study tour and capacity building workshops. The 20 selected fellows will benefit from direct access to various African Union leadership, and have the opportunity for on-the-ground reporting on the AU’s work around the agenda 2063 strategic aspirations.

The Village Capital, in partnership with Moody’s Foundation is seeking applications for Future of Work 2022 to support entrepreneurs across Africa that are building for-profit, market-based solutions in education, employment, and benefits that could help young people in Sub-Saharan Africa, better prepare for the future of work, access more and better employment opportunities, and build careers.

Future of Work 2022 is looking to support 45 startups across the region with investment readiness training through: a core cohort of 10-12 startups, and an expanded cohort of 33-35 startups featuring self-guided training, extensive virtual support and engagement with mentors. The program supports impact-focused startups leveraging highly sensitive data to improve the quality, and access to digital, financial and healthcare services.

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) are pleased to announce a call for concept notes under the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) initiative.

  1. Grants for Civil Society and NGOs

In the framework of the International Decade for People of African Descent, OHCHR is inviting proposals to support projects of civil society and non-government organizations that aim at promoting and protecting the human rights of people of African descent through the IDPAD grant scheme.

  1. ADWF’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is inviting applications for the 2022 Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence on “Young women-led approaches to addressing digital/online safety for women and girls”.

AWDF will consider applications from women’s groups and organizations, particularly those led by young women or girls, to educate, raise awareness and increase online safety and enjoyment, and prevent online violence and abuse against young women and girls.

  1. 2022 World AIDS Day Grant to reduce HIV-related Stigma

The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is pleased to announce the World AIDS Day 2022 grant call to support work under “Employing technology to reduce HIV-related stigma and new infections among young women”. To contribute to the creation of safe, accessible digital spaces, AWDF invites applications from women-led organizations and women’s groups for work using digital technologies such as mobile phones, social media and online apps to address stigma discrimination against women living with HIV, and to facilitate access to treatment and services.

  1. MSIF Du Pré Grant 2022 for MS Researches and Clinicians from low and middle-income countries

The MSIF Du Pré Grant enables multiple sclerosis researchers and clinicians from low and middle-income countries to make short visits (up to six months) to established MS research centres, outside of their own country. Visits may last between two and six months. Each grant is up to a maximum of £6,000 GBP, to cover the cost of travel and living expenses or to top up an existing grant to extend a visit.
