First Bank of Nigeria held its 3rd Integrate Fintech Summit on Wednesday, 16 October 2019 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. The Nigerian fintech scene is growing from strength to strength, attracting $95 million in investment in 2018. Fintech firms are transforming banking and finance. First Bank, Nigeria’s premier bank, is a leading innovator, deploying financial technologies across its nationwide network to serve its large customer base.
Now in its third year, First Bank’s Integrate Fintech Summit has become an industry platform for fintech players to collaborate and innovate.
This year’s version was themed Banking + Tech = Solving Real Problems. A keynote speech on the theme for the event was given by Victor Asemota, Founder, Swifta Systems & Services. Participants explored the role of technology in solving financial exclusion and payment processing problems and in providing tailored lifestyle financial solutions.
Experienced players in the fintech sector shared their insights on three panels: Solving Business Problems, Solving Lifestyle Problems and Solving Regulatory, Security & Legal Problems using Banking & Technology.
Speakers emphasized the need for Fintech entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses rather than focus on mere survival.
Participants were treated to a sumptuous buffet after the breakout session.
