FG Launches AI, Data Science Training for Young Nigerians- How to Apply

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a DeepTech_Ready Upskilling program aimed at equipping young Nigerians with essential skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and data science. This initiative, supported by Google through a N2.8 billion grant, is part of the government’s broader 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) project designed to build a robust digital workforce.

The training will provide young Nigerians with expertise in emerging technologies that are critical to driving economic development and fostering innovation. Participants will learn both technical and practical applications of data science, preparing them to solve real-world problems across industries.

Programme Highlights

Participants will gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Advanced Data Analysis and Visualization
  • Machine Learning and Data Science
  • Data Architecture
  • Geospatial Data Science
  • Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Advanced Machine Learning Techniques

The programme will run for six months per cohort, featuring self-paced learning alongside on-site training with online support from mentors and industry experts.

  1. Eligibility Check:
    • Open to young Nigerians with basic to intermediate knowledge of AI, data science, or technical fields.
    • Applicants must be passionate about technology and innovation.
  2. Application Process:

    • Complete the application form by providing personal details, education background, and contact information.
  3. Submission and Notification:
    • Submit your form on the portal.
    • Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via email or phone, including information on training schedules and further requirements.
