The Federal Government has disbursed ₦5.12 billion in pension arrears to 90,689 pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).

The payment was handled by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

This was confirmed in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by Mr. Olugbenga Ajayi, PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications.

First, pensioners from the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Prisons Pension Department received ₦276,032 for one month of arrears, covering a total of 8,626 pensioners.

Next, the Police Pension Department got ₦619,584 for two months of arrears, benefiting 9,681 pensioners.

Additionally, the Civil Service Pension Department was paid ₦408,736 for one month of arrears.

The Parastatals Pension Department received ₦3,814,976 for two months of arrears.

These payments have been fully completed across all four pension departments. This aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. PTAD promised to continue settling pensions promptly as funds become available.
