The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced that parts of Enugu metropolis will experience a 10-day planned power outage beginning Wednesday, October 22, to Thursday, October 31, 2025, to enable major maintenance and repair works in collaboration with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the New Haven Station.
According to Mr. Emeka Ezeh, MEDL’s Head of Corporate Communications, the outage will occur daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., affecting several 33KV feeders and neighbourhoods across the city. The exercise aims to enhance power reliability and service quality once completed.
The affected areas include major locations such as Abakpa Nike, Trans-Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Emene Industrial Layout, 9th Mile, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, and Centenary City, among others.
Ezeh apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents to exercise patience, emphasizing that the maintenance project is crucial for improving electricity supply across Enugu.
