Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), commonly known as Eko Disco, has explained that the ongoing load shedding across Lagos is due to a reduced power supply from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
According to Eko Disco, the reduction in power supply is a result of faults on the 330kV transmission lines serving the Lagos region. In a statement released on its official X handle on Monday morning, the company stated:
“We are still experiencing reduced power allocation from our TCN partners due to faults on the 330kV lines feeding the Lagos region.”
Eko Disco assured customers that it is actively working with TCN and other relevant stakeholders to resolve the issue and restore a more stable power supply as soon as possible.
This is not the first time Lagos has faced a similar power situation. As previously reported by Arbiterz, such occurrences have been a recurring challenge and given the ongoing nationwide heatwave, residents are hopeful that the issue will be resolved swiftly.
